Today is the third anniversary of the January 6 insurrection, and yesterday, I proudly stood by President Joe Biden as he launched his re-election campaign at Valley Forge.

President Biden is running his campaign like our democracy depends on the outcome of this election — because it does. I was in my office in Washington as the violent insurrectionists stormed the Capitol building and attempted to prevent the peaceful transfer of power. I was there when 147 of my Republican colleagues in the House voted to overturn the 2020 election.

Our democracy and the personal freedoms we hold dear are under constant threat. President Biden reminded all of us that the threats made against our democracy on January 6, 2021, persist.
