In times like these, we should be able to look at the president and feel reassured that they are doing everything in their power to keep the American public safe and healthy. Unfortunately right now, we cannot.

It is clear that the stakes of the election this November are very high. In fact, they are on full display right now.

We need a president with the ability to lead, the decency to tell the American people the truth, and the unselfishness and patriotism to allow the scientific experts to make the big decisions.

Unlike the conflicting messages coming out of Donald Trump's White House, my plan to combat COVID-19 is very clear and guided by science.

We need a public health response that includes available free testing, the elimination of cost barriers to treatment, the development of a vaccine that will be available for free, and the full deployment and operation of necessary supplies, personnel, and facilities.

And we also need a robust economic response, including emergency paid leave. We need to provide every resource at our disposal to the workers, families, and small businesses who are going to be hit hard by this crisis.

So as I said, the stakes are high and the choice this November is clear. And I hope that I can continue to count on your unwavering support as we continue our fight to take our country back.
