Yesterday, I joined Congressman Jaime Raskin and Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of the House Oversight Committee to release a damning report of the illegal gifts and payments that the Trump family received from foreign governments while Trump was in office.

While in office, Trump’s businesses received at least $7.8 million from 20 foreign governments.

Donald Trump declared he would be the first to make money off the presidency. Now, we’ve found the evidence to prove he did. He and his family illegally took millions from foreign governments — payments and bribes that are a clear violation of the Constitution.

The millions in receipts and documents represent just the tip of the iceberg. The nearly $8 million found is from only four properties owned by Trump out of his hundreds of properties and businesses around the world. We do not doubt for a second that his crimes go deeper than what we have found. The Trump family needs to be held accountable.

But, of course, the Republican chair of the Oversight Committee halted the investigation as soon as he could, all while the GOP continued pushing their failed year long search to find incriminating evidence against President Biden.

The GOP continues to prioritize their political interests over accountability.

But as long as I am in Congress, I will continue my fight to hold criminals like Trump accountable publicly, because the American people deserve better than a fraudster President.
