We must make sure the most vulnerable people in our communities receive the critical care they need. We need bold action to strengthen our CHCs, and we need it now.
Our nation’s Community Health Centers (CHCs) are on the front lines — providing vital care to millions of Americans, many of whom are uninsured or underinsured.
Historically, CHCs have played a vital role in responding to our most pressing public health challenges. From the HIV/AIDS epidemic to the ongoing opioid crisis, CHCs offer critical health services to vulnerable communities, but they remain chronically underfunded and under-resourced.
Given the severity of COVID-19, we simply must not allow this under-funding to continue. With millions of vulnerable Americans, nationwide testing shortages, and a rapidly spreading virus, it is both unfair and unsustainable for CHCs to shoulder this burden without proper resources.
That’s why on Monday, I sent a letter to Mike Pence in his capacity as head of the White House Coronavirus Task Force demanding that he fully fund our Community Health Centers and provide them the resources they need to respond to this public health crisis.
Will you sign onto my open letter to Mike Pence and demand that this administration fully funds our live-saving Community Health Centers?

It is deeply concerning that in the midst of this pandemic, administration officials have tasked CHCs with caring for our nation’s most complex and vulnerable patients without providing them with the adequate support and resources to do it.
The Massachusetts 7th district is home to 15 community health centers. They are critical to addressing the health inequities impacting our communities, and serving our most vulnerable neighbors — from Cambridge to Roxbury.
We must make sure the most vulnerable people in our communities receive the critical care they need. We need bold action to strengthen our CHCs, and we need it now.
Sign onto my letter to Mike Pence and make your voice heard to tell this administration it must fully fund every single Community Health Center.
Thank you for fighting for justice with me,
