John,

Out of concern for the spread of the COVID-19 virus, MCSO has decided to immediately suspend access into our jail facilities for volunteer and supplemental services.

There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Maricopa County jails, but we are making this decision out of an abundance of precaution. The safety of our officers, staff, and incarcerated population are our top priority.

Family and friends will still be able to contact their loved ones through video visitation, messaging, and emails. Court-ordered interactions will continue uninterrupted.

We are continually monitoring information provided by county, state, and federal public health organizations, and will issue further restrictions or changes as needed.

MCSO is committed to doing everything we can to flatten the curve, mitigate the spread and impact of COVID-19, and keep every one of our community members safe throughout this public health emergency.

We will continue to keep you informed as the situation evolves.
