The
Friday File
A Weekly Publication
| |
|
Greetings!
Welcome to the new and improved updated Friday File for 2024!
While this publication will appear different, much of the content will remain similar. We listened to your input and are hopeful this new layout makes The Friday File an easier, faster, and more concise read and ultimately more beneficial to you.
With that said, let's get started! We have much work to do in the new year, and the KSGOP team has been busy creating a new theme for 2024. It's called “RunRight,” and everything about the coming year will be framed with this year's latest campaign, “RunRight2024”. You will see this logo and the fruit it bears throughout 2024. Its debut will occur at our KSGOP state convention later this month!

New Kansas Republican Party Resolution on ENERGY
I am super excited to share the new Kansas GOP Resolution on Energy that I co-wrote with former Kansas State Representative, Dennis Hedke.
Rep. Hedke was chair of the House Energy and Utilities Committee, and professionally he is a geophysicist running his own business, Hedke Geoscience Consulting, LLC.The Energy Resolution passed during the 2023 summer State Committee meeting with delegates voting a resounding “YES”, with only one person voting against it.
While running for office in 2022 and during the 2023 session, I quickly learned across the state of Kansas, that the global deep state industrial energy complex is the same story county by county. The only winners are the big energy companies, while the non-participating landowners, every single Kansas tax payer, energy rate payers - whether individuals or businesses - are all under attack affecting energy reliability, energy rates, property rights, property values, health, wildlife, and the environment.
| |
|
I started doing my research, reading, talking with people in District 5, talking with people across the state of Kansas, as well as people across the United States. What I found is that the exact same problems are happening everywhere! Unfortunately, Kansas is not unique.
Republicans are about less government, which means we do not like tax subsidies with our money being used to prop up alternative energy that could otherwise fail in what should be a free market.
Here are some of the energy problems in Kansas:
● There is irrefutable evidence demonstrating that ill-health effects to mankind and the environment are occurring due to the side effects of industrial scale wind installations.
● People across Kansas have shared their personal stories of how they are physically and mentally miserable living next to the giant wind turbines. Some of these people are leaving their homes to protect their health, finding that Kansas does not offer any protections.
● Counties make the decision to allow an industrial scale wind or solar project, yet counties are not equipped to understand the complexities. Counties use home rule, which has led us to multiple issues across the state.
● Wind energy company knowingly and intentionally broke federal law in this article.
● We need to encourage the development of additional nuclear power.
● The Federal government and Kansas energy companies are trying to close our reliable coal and natural gas energy plants.
| |
● The SPP put out a conserve energy alert to businesses in August during the 100+ degree heat, when there was little to no wind, which resulted in little to no wind energy. This is one step away from emergency mode and will continue to grow as a problem if we do nothing about it.
● Brownouts and Blackouts occur where energy is intermittent or non-existent due to unreliable alternative energy sources and poor policy allowing for it to happen.
● Double dipping - Increasing energy rates, transmission line tariffs, along with tax subsidies using your hard earned tax dollars.
● National security - foreign adversaries manufacture most of the products in the creation of alternative energy which creates multiple problems. Check out the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act that the Federal Government passed that went into effect in 2022.
● And many more issues…
| |
What does the KS GOP energy resolution do?
● Helps to educate people across the state of energy problems.
● Ultimately, what the resolution does is support candidates and legislative intent regarding energy policy that will serve to provide protection to our citizens security, physical health, financial health, access to reliable energy and property rights across all Kansas counties.
How can you help?
● Support local, state, and federal candidates that align with the Kansas GOP energy platform and energy resolution.
● Support legislation that aligns with the Kansas GOP energy platform and energy resolution.
Legislation to support:
● Energy reliability and sustainability
● Consumer protections
● Setbacks that provide rural property owners the same rights that city property owners have
● Hazardous material remediation, as there is none today at the federal or state level
● Eminent domain protections for property owners
● Stop the ESG tax subsidy gravy train abuse
● No tax subsidies for wind turbine recycling centers (think APEX or STAR Bond legislation where there is not full disclosure)
| |
Since the Kansas GOP has taken a stronger stance on energy, our resolution has gone global and has been published in multiple articles as this need exists across planet Earth. I am looking forward to the 2024 session working with my fellow Representatives and Senators to bring solutions to help solve energy problems in Kansas.
Kansas is taking our power back with power!

Covid Disaster Betrayal
The government's response to COVID-19 was absent an exit strategy for the lockdowns, closures, masks, and vaccination mandates, leaving a void in predictable outcomes. The COVID-19 response was marked by widespread confusion and conflicting messages about best practices, which led to vast noncompliance and numerous anomalies, rendering the entire endeavor unnecessary, dangerous, absurd, and morally questionable.
And at the same time this unraveling failure reflected the slow-motion collapse of the medical community's reputation and credibility. Their response was over the top and fully in conjunction with government. The story boiled down to this: the nerdy kids suddenly had all of the power, and they wielded it with impunity and moral superiority.
It was fascinating to watch the public’s reactions. Quickly it became clear that an individual's compliance with guidance was largely impacted by their political affiliation. The more liberal a person is, the more likely they were to wear a mask. The more conservative they were, the less likely guidance was followed. That seemed odd to me because a public health issue should concern and impact all people equally and political party shouldn't heavily influence compliance.
In the moment, COVID-19 blasted onto the scene in March 2020, and it was very alarming. The medical community immediately pounced, espousing worst-case scenarios in their briefings of elected officials who had few other resources. This flawed information, presented as absolute and hard facts, allowed this alarmist reaction to then dictate public policy.
As a county commissioner at this time, I was on the front row watching professionals, who to that point had vast credibility, roll out this big lie.
I asked many questions and challenged the people giving me information. I also challenged the science they sited as underlying proof of a coming death-sunami. I was unafraid to ask simple questions because I sensed some of what they were telling us was bunk. I called them out on their nonsensical doomsday prognostications.
As a result, my critics weren't just the medical folks. County staff and some of my fellow electeds lined up against me. I watched other electeds move from being dependable Republicans who believed in individual freedom, to being scared, frail, and fragile old men. They abandoned their core principles to soothe their personal fears. I told them the uncomfortable truth of their behavior and it wasn't warmly received. The truth is hard sometimes and apparently it's harder when one is scared.
For months, county health officials scoffed as my questions and rolled their eyes at my very mention of “herd immunity.” But my skepticism was spot-on.
The lockdown didn't work.
The masks didn't work.
Social distancing didn't work.
Closing churches didn't work.
Shuttering small shops while liquor stores and big boxes remained open didn't work.
It was scary for me at the start because the responsibility of public health lay within each vote I cast. Lives could be negatively impacted if we didn't quarantine, but conversely lives could be enriched with freedom.
I chose the latter. Sweet Freedom.
This unsavory episode in human and American history stands as a colossal testament and failure in both public health and governance, primarily due to the unprecedented scope and impact of the coercion involved.
The medical community completely ignored science. As a result, they have suffered massive and potentially unrecoverable loss of credibility. Their lack of integrity and their politically tainted COVID-19 response has made the public tragically doubtful of, and reticent to follow, their advice should the next crisis arise. They put lives in danger with their reckless and heavy-handed actions and the government has suffered the same self-inflicted credibility carnage.
Bottom line: Some of our leaders lied to us and they are hoping you have forgotten that inconvenient truth.

Bill Clinton, The Democrat Cabal, and the Lolita Express | |
|
Recently unsealed documents have provided significant insight into the alleged association between former President Bill Clinton and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. One particularly revealing document includes the testimony of Epstein's accuser, Johanna Sjorberg, who stated that Epstein had mentioned that "Clinton likes them young, referring to girls." This statement suggests a disturbing connection between Clinton and Epstein's illicit activities.
Sjorberg further revealed that she was aware of Clinton's involvement with Epstein but only learned about their friendship through a Vanity Fair article. This implies that Clinton may have intentionally kept his association with Epstein hidden from the public eye. The fact that Sjorberg, an accuser of Epstein, had knowledge of Clinton's connection to the convicted sex offender raises questions about the extent of their relationship and the potential implications it may have had.
Another document describes Clinton as having a "close personal relationship" with Epstein, a claim that Clinton vehemently denies. This document adds weight to the allegations against Clinton and suggests that their relationship may have been more than just casual acquaintances. The term "close personal relationship" implies a level of intimacy and familiarity that goes beyond a mere association.
| |
Despite acknowledging he had been a passenger on Epstein's private plane, Clinton has consistently maintained that he did not know about Epstein's criminal activities. This assertion raises skepticism, as it seems that Clinton would have been aware of Epstein's illegal behavior, especially considering their alleged close relationship. The unsealed documents, therefore, cast doubt on Clinton's claims of ignorance and raise concerns about his potential involvement or knowledge of Epstein's actions.
Court-ordered unsealed documents have shed light on a disgusting and perverted lifestyle and the association between former President Bill Clinton and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The testimony of Epstein's accuser and the description of a "close personal relationship" between Clinton and Epstein provide troubling evidence of their connection. While Clinton denies any knowledge of Epstein's criminal activities, the documents point to this as a lie and raise further suspicions and doubts about his claims and warrant much further investigation into the nature of their association.
Bill Clinton is “sketchy” on his best days and now things are pointing to his depravity at his worst. And that makes Clinton someone we should all agree isn't good for society or America and should never be permitted anywhere near underage children or the vulnerable.
And it occurs to me that perhaps the right shoe on the left foot doesn't fit very well but, hey, if it's good for one, then it's good for all. And I believe jail would be an excellent “safe” place for him.
And don't forget; drywall, Christmas decorations, and Epstein didn't hang themselves.

This is a weekly reminder that Joe Biden, President of the United States, and his son, Hunter Biden, are liars and kingpins in a crime syndicate ring.
The Biden family has betrayed America, committing the crime of treason. They must be held accountable.

Meet the Candidates
KSGOP National Committeewoman
and Committeeman
|
|
| |
I appreciate this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Maria Holiday and I am currently the Chair of the Johnson County Republican Party. It is one of many roles I have held in Kansas politics. I was born in Wichita and raised in Ellinwood in Barton County. My family moved to Garden City when I was a sophomore. After high school, I graduated from St. Mary of the Plains in Dodge City with a degree in education. My husband's job brought us to Johnson County in 1992. Doc and I have three grown children, four granddaughters, and a lab mix named Ebony.
I believe the Republican Party has a winning platform. “We The People,” must pull together to defend our country. I have and will continue to fight for truth! We need leadership who is not timid about promoting our platform.
As your National Committeewoman, I will have a vote for new National leadership in 2025. I will vote for a leader that will listen to the grassroots. We need an RNC that can create excitement and hope for the future. We need the RNC to support conservative ideals, project political strength, and win the big races across America and Kansas. “We The People” are desperately waiting for an RNC that is not afraid to take ACTION!
In addition to being the Johnson County Chair, I have been the Chair for the Kansas Republican Assembly, the secretary for the 3rd Congressional District, a grassroots coordinator for Phill Kline, a campaign volunteer for multiple campaigns, a campaign manager, and a candidate for public office. I am a 2007 graduate of the Eisenhower Women in Leadership Series. I am unabashedly pro-life, and I have always supported Republican leadership.
In my first year as Johnson County Chair, our JCRP team rebuilt our website and added a campaign toolkit for candidates. We have established messaging recommendations, created precinct committee persons recruitment and training committees, held candidate training, and remodeled our office so our 2 dozen local Republican groups have a home large enough to hold their meetings and events. We doubled fundraising this year over last and got a record number of Republicans out to vote in a local election.
If you want a National Committee Woman who gets things done - I’m your girl. I care about our country. I care about saving it.

Wendy is currently serving as the Chair of the Third District Republican Party and previously served as the Chair of the Olathe Republican Party. She is a graduate of the Eisenhower Series and a member of the KFRW. In 2020, she personally knocked the entirety of four critical Kansas House districts and won them all. These wins allowed Republicans to keep their supermajority and deliver on key proposals. As a Johnson County Charter Commissioner, Wendy won a battle to keep the sheriff an elected office and blocked a radical proposal for a public health and safety governing board. Wendy is a mother, wife, K-State alumna, and proud Kansas conservative.
Blessings,
Wendy
| | My life has been a series of events preparing me for these times. Husband, father, physician, farmer, oil & gas producer, general contractor: my specialty has been tackling new challenges head on, and with God’s grace…. successfully. In the spirit of servant leadership, I ask for your support for Kansas Republican Party National Committeeman. As an elected County precinct committeeman, District Delegate, State Delegate, and Kansas State Senator, I have led the grassroots’ charge back to the CONSTITUTION, our FREEDOMS, and the TRUTH. I pledge to promote our Kansas Republican Party Platform unapologetically from “Sea to Shining Sea”. UNITY is ultimately found within our values and principles, it’s also where success resides and where a true “Red Wave” begins. The RNC struggles to define what they stand for as their thinking is frequently usurped by big-money donors committed to their selfish interests. Endorsements: the approval I seek is from WE THE PEOPLE, while they are rarely famous, they are Kansas’ greatest asset. My heart and soul are firmly planted in the Kansas Grassroots. A vote for me will be a vote for a Republican revival, a resurgence. I WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!! See my resume at SteffenForKansas.com. Facebook: Dr. Mark Steffen. Cell: 620-802-1188 | | |
Helping elect solid conservatives to office and advancing the America First agenda has been a lifelong endeavor for me. My most valued political experience is what I've gained as a grassroots activist working with conservatives to elect Republicans. I've served as:
Precinct committeeman
Field Director for Todd Tiahrt for Congress
Kansas GOP State Committee Delegate
Sedgwick County Republican Central Committee Chairman
Kansas Fourth District Republican Treasurer
Kansas Fourth District Chairman
Kansas State Representative
Vice Chair of the Kansas Republican House Campaign Committee
I’ve helped maintain a Republican majority in the Kansas House, fought to keep our Republican primaries closed, recruited conservatives to run for office, and raised money for candidates and conservative initiatives. As a member of the RNC, I am working to strengthen the integrity of our elections and to build conservative coalitions. It’s critical work I hope to continue.
My decades of service to the Republican Party helped me earn the support of three of Kansas's Republican Congressional District Chairs – Laura Francis, Eric Rucker, and Debbie Luper. I hope to earn your support as well.

Kansas College Republicans
| My name is Garrett Henson and I am from Valley Falls, KS. I am currently a criminal justice major at Washburn University and I am running for Chair of the Kansas Federation of College Republicans. I am running for this position because it has been made clear to me that young conservatives across the state are ready for change. I look to boost College Republican membership across the state and fight for our shared conservative values in 2024! | |
