Dear Friend,

During Congress’s brief district work period during the holiday season, we had the opportunity to participate in some great discussions with local leaders in the Sixth District. Read on to learn more…

ImageCongressman Tom Emmer meets with Waite Park Chief of Police Anthony Reznicek

Every day, our law enforcement officers face danger head-on to keep our communities safe. Just before the new year, we had the chance to sit down with Waite Park Police Chief Anthony Reznicek. Chief Reznicek was sworn in as Chief of Police in 2023, following the retirement of Chief Dave Bentrud. During our conversation, we discussed his work in Waite Park, the recruitment and retention issues facing the department and the work we are doing in Congress to continue supporting our law enforcement officers.

We are also working to bring resources back home to make roads, bridges, and other important infrastructure safer and more efficient. Our county commissioners play an essential role in this process, making sure that federal funding can be prioritized to where it is needed most.

Recently, we had the chance to sit down with a few Benton County Commissioners to discuss recent infrastructure projects in Benton County. $5 million for the Benton County Highway 29 Extension project was included in the House version of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill. You can view a full list of our office’s Community Project Funding Requests here.

As we start our work in 2024, we look forward to continue hearing from you. Contact our office here to share your opinions with us.

Sincerely,
