Irving, TX - Happy New Year! I hope you had a restful New Year's Day with your family and friends. I'm looking forward to a productive 2024!

This week, I visited Eagle Pass, Texas to speak with local law enforcement officers and landowners about the urgent and ongoing border security disaster. I heard heartbreaking stories from those closest to the crisis about the lives impacted by the Biden Administration's failed policies. I'm committed to forcing President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas to protect Texans and all Americans from the countless threats caused by the open border. You can read more in the Work of the Week Section and watch my remarks at the House Republicans' press conference by clicking on the photo below.

Later this week, I honored the winners of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge. This competition encouraged participants to learn to code through the creation of their own original apps. Congratulations to Anika, Cody and Eric, and Daham!

Cody and Eric from Dawson Middle School

Anika from the Hockaday School

Daham from Coppell High School

Texas-24 Work of the Week

This week, I joined my colleagues at the southern border to hear from folks on the ground about the impacts of the Biden administration’s failed policies. I’m working to secure the border and protect Americans from this unprecedented humanitarian and national security disaster.

Texas-24 Hometown Hero

This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is “Soldiers’ Angels", which is one of the largest volunteer-centered organizations dedicated to supporting troops, veterans and their families. The organization helps thousands across the nation every year, and I’m grateful for their expansion into the Dallas area.
