We all have a responsibility and a duty to make sure we are nominating the best of the best for our party to dominate in the General Election in November, and IT STARTS HERE!
2024 is one of the most important elections of our lifetime, we have critical races up and down the ticket, including Governor, U.S. Senator, and President of the United States. As we move forward this year, there will be ample opportunity to get involved. Gov. Holcomb Announced a New Round of Grants to Support Child Care |
|
|
Governor Eric Holcomb, announced that $18.1 million in employer-sponsored child care grants will be awarded to 64 businesses, community groups and school corporations. This is the first of two rounds to be awarded, totaling $25 million!
What he’s saying: "We wanted those who know first-hand the critical needs of their employees, and those who are best positioned to partner in their communities, to create child care solutions for their workforce, and they delivered,” Gov. Holcomb said. “This effort harnesses the combined efforts of businesses, community groups, and schools that want to support working Hoosiers’ careers and our youngest learners across the state.”, Gov. Holcomb shared in a press release.
What else happened this week? Gov. Holcomb announced that he will unveil his 2024 Next Level agenda on Monday, January 8th at 10am ET, and you can watch live here.
Additionally, Gov. Holcomb will give his 8th and FINAL State of the State address on Tuesday January 9th. The address will begin at 7pm ET and can be viewed live here.

State Senator Cyndi Carrasco will be serving the remainder of the late Jack Sandlin's term in the Senate, representing senate district 36, which covers portions of Johnson and Marion counties. Senator Carrasco earned her law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and currently serves as vice president and general counsel at the University of Indianapolis. Senator Carrasco was also the first female Indiana Inspector General and has served as Gov. Holcomb's deputy general counsel.

State Senator Greg Goode will serve senate district 38, which covers Vigo and Clay counties and a portion of Sullivan County. He has a bachelor's degree in political science and a MA in history from Indiana State. Senator Goode spent over 10 years as the Executive Director of Government Relations and University Communications for Indiana State University. He is currently the state director for U.S. Sen. Todd Young.

State Senator Randy Maxwell will serve senate district 43, which covers Dearborn, Jefferson, Ohio, Scott and Switzerland counties, and portions of Jennings County. He earned his degree in finance-real estate and entrepreneurship from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where he was also a member of the football team. Senator Maxwell is currently the CEO of Maxwell Construction, a family-owned Southeast Indiana general contractor and development company.

State Representative Alex Zimmerman will serve house district 67, which covers portions of Decatur, Jefferson, Jennings and Ripley counties in southeast Indiana. Rep. Zimmerman is an attorney and owns a private law practice in North Vernon. He earned his bachelor's degree from Franklin College and his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He previously served in several roles with the Indiana Senate, including as legislative assistant, majority legal associate and deputy majority attorney.
