We hope you have had a great week and a wonderful holiday season! We are already done with the first week of 2024. Congressman Kim and our office are looking forward to another year of hard work on behalf of New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District and are grateful for the opportunity to serve you. Great News through Grant Funding for Small Businesses

This week, Congressman Kim announced that the National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (National ACE) was selected to receive $2.5 million in grant funding over four years from the Minority Business Development Agency’s Capital Readiness Program to support the success and growth of minority-owned businesses.

We were proud to have supported their application! Federal support like this for organizations like National ACE goes a long way to make sure our diverse business communities have the access to capital, resources, and support they need to thrive.

Congressman Kim Helps Celebrate Local Leaders at Reorgs!

This week, Congressman Kim was around the district helping recognize the swearing in of local leaders. He also had the honor of personally helping swear-in Mayor Kaya McIntosh in Willingboro and Commissioner Balvir Singh in Burlington County!

Federal Legislation Hard at Work to Keep Lowering Insulin Costs

Congressman Kim helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act into law to deliver major savings on everyday healthcare costs for people across New Jersey and our nation. Through this law, on January 1, 2023 we made sure no senior on Medicare had to pay more than $35/month for their insulin.

This week, these savings are now a reality for many more Americans! Following the lead and pressure of Democratic lawmakers, our country’s major insulin manufacturers instated a $35/month insulin cap too! We are hard at work to expand more savings to every American and are proud this life-saving medication is seeing the savings it deserves. No American should struggle to cover healthcare costs.

Closing out 2023 with Casework Success!

Over the holidays, we were proud to share our last casework success numbers for 2023! In December, we returned $2,014,936 and closed 162 cases for our Burlington, Mercer, and Monmouth communities. This put our final number just over $15 million for the year! From issues with tax returns, stalled Social Security benefits, or a delayed passport, our direct assistance with federal agencies will be no different in 2024. If you are struggling with an issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

The Power of a Friendly Furry Face!

To close out 2023, we also shared our final Service Spotlight of the year. Dawn and her two service dogs Bear Bear and Patron have done incredible work across our community to help those in need. Her dogs have left her with the motto, “be the person my dog wants me to be.” Learn more about the three’s work here!

Every month, we are proud to honor and highlight an incredible person in our local community and are grateful to all 12 of our 2023 spotlights. Their individual service inspires us and we hope it inspires others. Help us celebrate someone you know as a #ServiceSpotlight in 2024 and nominate them through our website!

UPCOMING: Social Media for Nonprofits Webinar

On January 17th at 1 PM, our office is hosting a webinar on expanding your audience and impact on social media. The conversation will cover how to use social media as a tool to reach donors, volunteers, and clients, and will feature Anysa Holder, Chief Advancement Officer for Easterseals New Jersey and the executive lead over advocacy, marketing, internal communications, customer support, and fundraising.
