We just learned that activists here in Florida have officially put abortion on the ballot in 2024!

This ballot initiative will give Florida voters the chance to codify reproductive rights into our state constitution and overturn Republicans’ far-right abortion ban. 

I can’t overstate just how important this victory is. In the years since Roe v. Wade was overturned, whenever voters are presented with a ballot initiative like this, they vote to codify reproductive rights every time. And I’m confident that the Sunshine State will be next.

But far-right leaders like Rick Scott are STILL scheming to pass a nationwide ban on abortions. And right now, all eyes are on Florida. 

With the election year officially underway, we have to rise to the moment. That's why I've set a goal to bring in 10,000 donations before midnight tonight to defeat Rick Scott. Look, over the last couple of years, we've watched the GOP unleash a tidal wave of extreme abortion bans across the country — including here in Florida. Today, my daughters and I are among the millions of women denied our rights to privacy, health care, and bodily autonomy. It’s not only infuriating — it’s downright terrifying.

Thankfully, voters across the country are fighting back. From Kansas to Ohio, they’ve taken to the ballot box to reject these far-right bans and enshrine abortion rights in their state constitution. Now, voters in Florida will have the chance to overturn Republicans’ extremist ban this November.

But this is only just the beginning. If Democrats lose control of the Senate next year, Republicans could destroy abortion access nationwide.
