Commissioners seek candidates for vacant Skagit County District Court Judge, Position 2
?
Skagit County District Court Judge Dianne Goddard will retire from her service on February 29, 2024. The Skagit Board of County Commissioners is grateful for Judge Goddards? service to the Skagit County community and wishes her the best in retirement. The retirement will create a vacancy in Skagit County District Court for Position 2. Per Washington State law, the County Commissioners have the authority and responsibility to appoint a replacement District Court judge who will serve out the remainder of Judge Goddard?s term.
The Board of County Commissioners will accept applications from qualified members of the Washington State Bar Association to fill the vacated position from January 5, 2024, until 4:30 p.m. on January 19, 2024.
Applicants must be registered voters in Skagit County. Applicants are strongly encouraged to promptly submit the Uniform Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire and Waiver and Authorization to Release Information, along with a brief resume.

The Board of County Commissioners expects to make the selection of the new Skagit County District Court judge by February 9, 2024, with an effective appointment date of March 1, 2024.
