My grandfather came over from Czechoslovakia and worked in the Northwest Indiana steel mills to earn a living.

Growing up, my father taught me the importance of being dependable at work and leading with strong integrity. He was a state senator and showed me the impact elected officials can make to support our community, including those in need of emergency assistance.

My family’s experiences fueled my inspiration to seek public office, and in Congress, I build upon their stories to advocate for our domestic steel industry, working families, veterans, and our shared values.
