Senate Republicans remain united in our efforts to secure substantive border policy for the American people. We will continue the fight to end Joe Biden's open border and uphold our laws. Illegal migrant encounters surged to an unprecedented 302,000 in December, marking the highest monthly record. Remember: border security is national security.

One year ago this week, I took the oath of office to fight for the Oklahoma values we hold dear and defend our constitutional freedoms that make this country great. I'm honored to serve Oklahoma in the U.S. Senate, and our fight has only just begun.

In the new year, I want to offer a friendly reminder that we are here to serve you. Whether you are an Oklahoman in need of help with a federal agency, have a student interested in applying for a service academy nomination, or if you plan on visiting Washington, D.C. and would like to meet with us, do not hesitate to contact my office. In 2023, we assisted 1,170 individuals with casework. If you need help or have any inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out.

We are still celebrating the many wins our office secured for Oklahoma's military installations in the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. In observance of this month, it is crucial to acknowledge the interconnected challenges stemming from an open border. The lax monitoring and response to illegal activities, including drug trafficking and human exploitation, stand as stark consequences. This issue demands immediate attention, as the lack of decisive action perpetuates an environment where these illicit activities can thrive.

Together we can work towards a safer and more secure America, putting an end to the perils of drug trafficking and human exploitation. It's time for decisive border policy measures and a commitment to safeguarding the well-being of our communities.
