Ice Skating
Outdoor Ice Rink Update

The City of Mendota Heights is working hard to open ice rinks! Mild temperatures have hindered the freezing of ice for the City?s skating rinks, but crews began flooding this week with hopes that cooler temperatures will allow for ice to build on the rinks.

Frost is not deep in the ground, so a typical flood with a large amount of water will not work like in past years. Ice will have to be built in smaller increments. Rinks could start opening in mid-January if sustained below freezing temperatures continue. More updates are planned as work progresses.

Elections
Election 2024

The 2024 General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 5, when voters will elect the next President and Vice President of the United States, as well as many federal, state and local representatives. In Mendota Heights, two City Council seats and the Mayoral seat will also be on the ballot.

*The Presidential Nomination Primary is March 5, 2024, with absentee voting available between Jan. 19 and March 4.*

Prevent the Spread of Pests: Dispose of Holiday Greenery Properly

Insects and tree diseases can be spread through the sale and distribution of trees and holiday greenery if brought into Minnesota from other areas; including Elongate Hemlock Scale, Boxwood Blight, Round-leaf Bittersweet, Spongy Moth, and others. These pests and diseases can be spread via live holiday decorations such as trees, wreaths, swags, garland, and other greenery if not disposed of properly.
