John,
Last year, the number of people without housing in our country increased by 12% due to soaring rents and increased cost of living. That’s 653,000 people in our country who do not have a roof over their head and a safe place to sleep. It’s unacceptable. And it doesn’t have to be this way.
As a single mother, I experienced the trauma, stress, stigma and pain that comes with being unhoused while sleeping in my car with my two kids. It was cold. It was isolating. Fixing this crisis is a top priority of mine. A safe place to live is a human right that has been undermined by intentional policy decisions. That is why, as co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Homelessness, I reintroduced the Unhoused Bill of Rights, legislation that commits the federal government to addressing the root of our nation’s housing crisis.
Corporate interests and GOP billionaire-backed super PACs are set to spend millions against me this year and hinder the progress we’ve made for people’s right to housing. Can you donate $5 right now to help me continue to advocate for everyone to have a roof over their heads?

The unhoused crisis continues to ravage our communities, claim lives, render people
permanently disabled, force people into the criminal-legal system, and create barriers to employment, education, and civic participation.
I am committed to ensuring that the Unhoused Bill of Rights is adopted towards helping to keep people permanently housed. In the richest country in the world, we all deserve to have a place to live. Anything other than that is unacceptable.
Will you chip in whatever you can so that I have resources to continue advocating for unhoused individuals, who deserve representation in the halls of power?

Together, we can end the unhoused crisis by 2027.
A world where everyone has a bed to sleep in, a place to return to at the end of the day, and a safe haven is possible if we work together.
With love and humanity,
Cori Bush
