The latest on what's happening with right-of-center women Weekly Wrap January 5, 2024 This Week's Highlights Monday Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) penned a must-read op-ed about the importance of American leadership on the world stage. In it she writes: "The United States must embrace a robust national defense and rebuild and strengthen our alliances. I believe in America first, always, but never America alone. We must once again become the steadfast partner of choice, upholding the values of life, liberty and opportunity for all, to ensure the stability of our own nation." Tuesday Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02), who has visited the border alongside Winning For Women, highlighted how the crisis has only gotten worse since last year. It has been eight months since House Republicans passed meaningful legislation to secure the border, while Senate Democrats and President Biden have simply refused to act. Wednesday Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) criticized the Biden administration's decision this week to sue Texas for wanting to secure the border in light of the federal government's refusal to do so. Texas recently passed a new state law that makes it a crime to enter the state illegally. Thursday Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY-21), who has arguably been the most effective member of Congress in exposing rampant antisemitism at America's colleges and universities, applauded Harvard president Claudine Gay's decision to resign this week. Stefanik released a statement saying: "Two down. Harvard knows that this long overdue forced resignation of the antisemitic plagiarist president is just the beginning of what will be the greatest scandal of any college or university in history."
