John, Join Voices for Public Transit as we urge our members of Congress to support the Senate-passed version of the Fiscal Year 2024 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Act! The FY24 THUD Appropriations bill is a critical piece of legislation that will determine public transportation investment for the coming year. As the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act continues to roll out, we must raise our voices to lawmakers to ensure all funding allocated by the law makes its way to our communities. Tell Congress to keep promises made in the IIJA and support public transit investment in the FY24 THUD Appropriations bill! Take Action While the U.S. Senate passed its version of the FY24 THUD Appropriations Act, the House did not pass its version of the bill but agreed to a Continuing Resolution until January 19. While the Senate version of the bill provides the overwhelming majority of funding for public transit and passenger rail, the House legislation as it stands severely decreases funding for public transit by $2.3 billion which is well below the authorized funding levels from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. We must act now to let lawmakers know that transit is essential to our communities.
