Did you know that early voting for the Texas primary begins in just 47 days?! That’s why we’re holding our Campaign Kick-Off this Saturday, January 6, 2024.
When our team looked at the calendar and saw that the first Saturday in January of this election year was also the third anniversary of the January 6 insurrection, I had mixed feelings. For the past two years, I have observed the anniversary of the attack on our Capitol, our Constitution, and our country in a somber and reflective way, honoring Capitol Police Officers by serving them meals with my colleagues who I was with in the House Gallery that day and remembering and honoring those who defended our democracy that day and in the days since.
But I realized that this year had to be different, because this year is different. And there is no greater reminder of what is at stake in this election than what happened on January 6, 2021. So we will honor and remember with action to empower people across our district to protect and to participate in our democracy.

We will continue that work all through this important year, when we will have many opportunities to work together. Our work together is all about electing people who will honor our Constitution and our country and our fellow citizens. There is no better reminder of the challenges before us, and the importance of our work together, than January 6.
