Friends -

I know things are tough right now. I hope that you're staying safe and practicing social distancing.

We need to be honest with ourselves about the coronavirus crisis. It's still unclear just how long we will need to take these isolating measures, and they will have a significant toll on all of us -- mentally, physically and economically, in ways we have yet to fully understand.

We need to be honest with ourselves about the coronavirus crisis. It's still unclear just how long we will need to take these isolating measures, and they will have a significant toll on all of us -- mentally, physically and economically, in ways we have yet to fully understand.

We will get through it if we do this together. Take some comfort in knowing that your commitment to social distancing and listening to CDC guidelines will help us all. It will save lives.

The American people's ability to come together in these moments of crisis never ceases to amaze me. There is immense power in our collective action.

A lot of our friends and neighbors are going to need our help to weather the storm, and this is especially true when it comes to making sure everyone in Connecticut has enough to eat. Food banks across our state are seeing a massive increase in demand, and they're doing all they can to meet those challenges. But they need our help.

So if you can afford it, I'm asking you to lend your support by making a donation to two of the largest food banks here in Connecticut. The Connecticut Food Bank and Food Share serve communities all across our state, and they're ramping up their operations to make sure no one goes hungry.

Your support will help them fund mobile food pantries and increase their capacity to respond more rapidly. Whatever you can afford to give would go a long way.

Thank you in advance for pitching in to support our community.

Keep checking in on your friends and loved ones, and let's have each other's backs.

Every best wish,

Chris Murphy
