These are uncertain times, friend. We’re facing the daunting public health emergency of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and it’s understandable that many people are frightened by the threat it poses and frustrated by the response from our government. But we’re not alone. It’s more critical than ever to support one another as the situation continues to evolve.

Below are some important guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that we should all be following. One of the biggest things we can do to reduce the spread of the coronavirus is social distancing. That means avoiding groups of people so that COVID-19 doesn’t spread as quickly through our communities. Instead, you should check in on friends and family with video or phone calls — seeing a friendly face can help a lot in these trying times.

Please make sure to visit Coronavirus.gov for more information and resources to help slow the spread of the disease and prevent infection.

Take care,
Team Tom
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines:
  • Practice social distancing and stay at home. You should only leave to buy groceries or for medical needs.
  • This is necessary to protect everyone, but especially at-risk Americans with underlying health conditions, the elderly, and infants.
  • Clean your hands often, washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer, especially after you have been in a public place.
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow. If you use a tissue, throw it away and wash your hands afterwards.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Have extra supplies on hand, including medications and groceries.
  • Make a plan for if you get sick — click here to see more tips from the CDC.
