John, BREAKING: Free Speech For People filed two new challenges today on behalf of voters in Illinois and Massachusetts to bar Donald Trump from appearing on presidential primary and general election ballots in 2024 under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, also known as the Insurrectionist Disqualification Clause. We are seeking immediate action from the bodies that hear challenges to candidates’ qualifications to block Trump from both the primary and general election ballots in their respective states. These challenges follow similar challenges we filed on behalf of voters in Minnesota, Michigan, and Oregon. Our case in Oregon is pending before the Oregon Supreme Court; our cases in Michigan and Minnesota are temporarily on hold because the courts said that under state law, they need to be refiled after the primary. While the U.S. Supreme Court considers whether or not to review the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision blocking Trump from the ballot, our new challenges in Illinois and Massachusetts will help build momentum toward victory. |
