Yesterday, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy shared his repulsive views on the Texas abortion case, in which Kate Cox was denied abortion case in her home state of Texas.

Her doctor had testified that the pregnancy was not viable — a statement that Ramaswamy declares to be incorrect. Not only does Ramaswamy not believe in a woman’s autonomy, but he doesn’t even believe her medical providers.

Candidates like this are no longer outside of the norm for the Republican Party. At some point or another, every Republican candidate running for president, especially the front runners, have made comments on abortion that not only disrespect a woman’s right to choose, but actively declare that they know better.

Dean believes that the government should have nothing to do whatsoever with what a woman does with her body. We should allow easy and safe access to abortion care, especially when the life of the mother or the child would be at risk.
