John,
Thanks to your hard work, the Senate just passed the House-crafted COVID-19 response package without the GOP-wish list of tax cuts.
You made this happen. Thank you.
But, displeased with the negotiations between Speaker Pelosi and the White House in this bipartisan legislation, Senate Republicans are hard at work on their own response:

If history is any guide, a GOP-crafted bill could result in a cut to FICA contributions, undermining Social Security and Medicare, as well as bailouts and tax cuts favoring corporations over critical supports to those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We need to act fast to stop tax cuts from making it into the next round of COVID-19 response legislation. Workers and families need direct aid in the form of payments to make up for lost wages—not trickle-down tax cuts that won’t even help many people out of work.
Donate to Americans for Tax Fairness to demand the next round of COVID-19 legislation put money directly into the pockets of working people and those most impacted by the pandemic. We cannot allow Mitch McConnell to leverage this crisis to pass long-desired right-wing tax cuts.

Also, if you haven’t already, this month you can support ATF’s critical work without opening your wallet. Vote for ATF in CREDO’s March voting to help us receive a large share of $150,000 in funding.
We will continue to keep you updated on ways you can act to support seniors, people with disabilities and working families during this pandemic.
Thank you,
Frank Clemente
