In the midst of this hectic campaign, it’s easy to lose sight of why this race really matters.
But over the holiday season, I had a chance to sit and reflect with my family on why I’m running and what I hope to accomplish.

I want to live in a state that bans guns rather than books from our kids’ classrooms.
I want to live in a state where working class families can afford health care.
I want to live in a state that doesn’t tell women what to do with their bodies.
I want to live in a state that doesn’t blame every poor immigrant kid with a dream for every problem under the sun.
If that’s the kind of state you want to live in too, John, I know it can be frustrating to see what our so-called Republican leaders are doing in Austin and Washington.
But it’s time we turn our frustration into action.
