Friend,
Yesterday, Lieutenant Governor Way and I attended a roundtable discussion in Newark with workers about New Jersey’s historic minimum wage increase. Together, we celebrated as New Jersey’s minimum wage increased to over $15/hour with the new year.
Accomplishing a minimum wage of over $15/hour for New Jerseyans is incredible. This discussion was even more special because, six years prior, in one of my first events as governor at the same location, we came together to begin our push of increasing our state’s minimum wage to $15/hour.
Then and now, we believe that the hardworking people of New Jersey who make minimum wage deserve a raise. And that’s why we aren’t stopping at just $15/hour. New Jersey’s minimum wage will continue to grow to keep up with inflation, ensuring financial security for working people across the state.
Stronger Fairer Forward is focused on securing the American Dream for everyone, and one way to do that is by paying people a livable wage. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in New Jersey and look forward to continuing to fight for all of our state’s working families.
Add your name today to show your support for New Jersey’s increased minimum wage and the hardworking people who helped get our state to $15/hour.
Thanks for your support,
Phil
