Last night, the progressive movement saw a much-needed win in IL-13. Marie Newman defeated conservative Democratic incumbent, Dan Lipinski. This was a critical victory for the progressive movement in showing that voters are ready for a new generation of progressive leadership in the Democratic Party.
Policies like Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, reproductive rights, and ending our system of mass incarceration and deportation are popular with voters all across the country. Newman’s win shows us that progressive leaders, like Jamaal, can win and they can win big.
To win big in NY-16, however, Jamaal needs your help reaching our neighbors and supporters online. March 31st is the final and most important FEC filing deadline. Everything we raise before then will become a public measurement of the campaign's strength. Can you donate today?

If you can’t donate right now, can you commit to making calls or sending text messages to voters from home? With your support, we can mobilize a volunteer and phone-banking operation that keeps people safe and keeps the campaign running. Everyone can get involved in some way, so click the button below to get involved!

Newman’s win isn’t just a defeat of an incumbent; it’s a defeat for machine politics and big corporate donors. It is a sign that grassroots movements can empower people to change the direction of the country.
Thank you so much for your support!
