John,

In 2018, Bath Iron Works, owned by defense contractor behemoth General Dynamics, received a $45 million tax break over 15 years from the state of Maine.

This week, the company announced that it is offering its employees 2 weeks unpaid leave in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

BIW employs nearly 8,000 Mainers. Those 8,000 workers have families they go home to. Maine taxpayers have been supporting BIW for decades, and it’s time the company acted in good faith in this time of crisis.

Will you stand with me and call for BIW to give all workers paid leave? [[link removed]]

John, small businesses across the state are struggling to make ends meet and take care of their employees. Large corporations in Maine have also stepped up to the plate, and it’s time BIW did right by their employees and by all Mainers.

Sign here to say you stand with BIW employees. [[link removed]]
