Several senators have been working to arrange a compromise with Republicans in order to get military aid for Ukraine and Israel through Congress, but the radical extremists in the GOP's House majority have made it clear it's either their appallingly harsh anti-immigration bill — a "nonstarter" for the White House — or nothing, and maybe just nothing. "Let me tell you, I’m not willing to do too damn much right now to help a Democrat and to help Joe Biden’s approval rating," drawled Texas Republican Troy Nehls. Clearly, their dedication to getting Donald Trump re-elected supersedes all the policies that they pretend to care about, and no amount of compromise to, you know, try to solve problems and govern is likely to change that.

Human Rights Watch accuses Israel of detaining thousands of Gaza workers, subjecting them to inhumane conditions
In the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks, Israel arrested thousands of Gazans working in Israeli territory and held them in incommunicado detention, where many were subjected to appalling treatment while they were interrogated about the attacks. 3,000 of these detainees were released on Nov. 7, though an unknown number remain in custody. The freed workers described abuses and degrading conditions in detention, including being stripped naked and brutally beaten, electrically shocked, urinated on, attacked by dogs, as well as held for several days without food or water. None of the released workers have been charged with any crime.

That list includes accepting a bribe, ordering an FBI director to fake evidence against a political foe, ordering the military to murder critics, and even selling nuclear secrets to a foreign enemy. Seeing as Trump is already suspected of doing at least two, if not three of those things...we could be looking forward to yet another very explosive Trump trial — if the courts allow it to proceed.

Jeffrey Epstein documents unsealed, naming Prince Andrew, Alan Dershowitz, and former President Clinton
A first trove of documents and court records related to notorious archpedophile and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was unsealed on Wednesday evening, with some, uh, uncomfortable revelations. These include sworn testimony from witnesses discussing how they were instructed to "massage" Epstein's powerful male friends and guests, that former President Bill Clinton "likes them young, referring to girls," and that Epstein regularly forced young girls to have sex with prominent right-wing lawyer Alan Dershowitz. David Copperfield also makes an appearance, and he seemed to be very knowledgeable about the crimes going on around him. Epstein is believed to have abused and trafficked nearly 100 victims between 2002 and his arrest in 2018, and hundreds more documents related to his case and crimes are set to be unsealed in the coming days and weeks.

Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly told a cabinet meeting last week that plans for the "voluntary resettlement" of Palestinians were underway and two Israeli leaders — Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich and Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir — recently provoked a sharp rebuke from the Biden administration for labeling the war as an opportunity to "resettle" Palestinians outside of Gaza and claim the Strip for future Israeli settlements. This will surely be a topic of discussion at next week's genocide hearing at the International Court of Justice.
