Special New Year Updates from the Energy Democracy Project

Our Gratitude...

As the new year begins with longer daylight ahead, we want to thank you, John, for following our work and being part of building this movement to democratize energy. Our intention in this work is clear: in order to realize our collective liberation, we need to be connected more than divided.

To support our ongoing alignment in the face of ever-mounting challenges from opponents that attempt to undermine our efforts, Energy Democracy Project Collaborator Organizations ground our work in a clear set of shared values and purpose each year. We invite you, our trusted supporter, to review this set of shared values and purpose alongside folks across the country, so we can trust each other and stay connected in building a people-powered movement to democratize our energy system.

We will announce exciting updates soon. Until then, we want to thank all the Project Collaborator Organizations for the trust and commitment to develop shared strategy and resources. More importantly, our collective work will mean nothing without your engaging in making this movement happen. Thank you for staying in touch with us. Below please find a list of opportunities to engage deeply with them.

We look forward to a vibrant 2024 driven by our connection with each other! Harambee!

What is the Energy Democracy Project?

Since the Energy Democracy National Tour in 2018, more than 30 energy democracy practitioners have been collaborating to build shared resources and strategies to democratize energy.

This decentralized group of collaborators work translocally to build community ownership and control of clean energy resources and to promote racial and economic equity as a cornerstone of the clean energy transition. We are not a typical coalition/alliance/network. We are the Energy Democracy Project.
