January at the National Constitution Center January at the Museum Winter Warm Up Wednesday, January 3 - Sunday, March 24 This winter, the National Constitution Center is offering discounted admission along with a series of programs and events that explore freedom and equality in America. From Wednesday, January 3, through Sunday, March 24, enjoy discounted admission of $15 for adults (usually $19) and $12 for youth ages 6-18 (usually $15). Discounted admission is valid online only. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The Center’s winter programming is geared toward learners of all ages—including educators, students, families, and lifelong learners—and includes daily activities and civic holiday celebrations like Black History Month and Women’s History Month, as well as special events at the Center. LEARN MORE Martin Luther King Jr. Day with Free Admission Monday, January 15 The National Constitution Center honors Martin Luther King Jr.’s lifelong dedication to justice, equality, and service for the greater good. The museum is open for extended hours on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 15, 2024, from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Admission is free thanks to the generosity of TD Bank. School Supplies Drive In the spirit of service emulated by Martin Luther King Jr., the National Constitution Center is organizing the donation of books and school supplies for Philadelphia school students. Donations of newly purchased school supplies, including as pens, pencils, crayons, copy paper, hand sanitizer, and folders, as well as age-appropriate books, can be dropped off at the Center throughout January, and will be donated to the School District of Philadelphia. RESERVE TICKETS Sensory Friendly Day Sunday, January 28 The National Constitution Center offers Sensory-Friendly Days to create an accessible learning experience for people of all abilities and their families while providing visitors with sensory processing challenges the opportunity to experience the museum in a secure and comfortable environment. Sensory-Friendly Days incorporate modified programming, specialized staff training, and emotionally safe spaces for families—including a room with a variety of sensory objects for visitors to use, comfortable seating, and cool blue lighting that creates a calming atmosphere. LEARN MORE Book Your Group Field Trips and Group Visits Inspire, inform, and engage your group with a visit to the National Constitution Center. The museum experience includes six signature attractions: The First Amendment: In our newest exhibit, discover how the First Amendment protects our most cherished freedoms—religious liberty, free speech, a free press, the freedom of assembly, and the right to petition—and how it impacts us today. Freedom Rising: This multimedia theater-in-the-round performance connects visitors—in an inspiring, unforgettable way—with the story of the U.S. Constitution and its ongoing role in our lives. The Story of We the People:This hands-on exhibit illuminates America’s constitutional history through innovative exhibits, films, photographs, rare artifacts, and engaging activities led by our education staff. Signers’ Hall: Sign the Constitution alongside 42 life-size, bronze statues of the Founding Fathers. Civil War and Reconstruction: Learn how constitutional clashes over slavery set the stage for the Civil War, and how the nation transformed the Constitution after the war during the Reconstruction period, taking a particularly close look at the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. The 19th Amendment: Explore the long fight for women’s suffrage and discover the stories of the many women who transformed constitutional history.
