WA DSHS Publishes Uniform Guardianship and Other Protective Arrangement Acts (UGA) Model Training program for Court Visitors and Guardian ad Litems

DSHS has completed the UGA Court Visitor and Guardian ad Litem?s Minor and Adults Model Training Programs.?

The creation of three-part model training programs for minor and adult/older adult GAL/CV?s was completed, in collaboration with DCYF, DDA, Superior Court Judges Association, Administrative Office of the Courts, Office of Public Guardianship and Elder Services and a volunteer 20-member Advisory Group.?

1. The Minors Model Program contains three documents published as DSHS 22-1942 (Instructor Guide, Learner Guide and Training Slides)
2. The Adult/Older Adult Model Training Program contains three documents published as DSHS 22-1948 (Instructor Guide, Learner Guide and Training Slides)

These products meet RCW 11.130 model training program requirement and support efforts to increase access to statewide recruitment and training materials and availability of Court Visitors and Guardian ad Litems for the people we serve.
