John --
Happy New Year! Welcome to the first edition of the
Pennsylvania Forward Party's monthly newsletter in 2024. Read
on to learn more - and mark your calendar for the January Statewide
Meeting on Jan 22th at 8 pm!
2023 In Review: 2023 was a transformational year
for the Pennsylvania Forward Party. We endorsed 9 candidates in the
November elections, and 3 of those were successfully elected: Seth
Bluestein (Philadelphia City Commissioner), Chris
Woodward (Lower Heidelberg Township Auditor), and Steve
Zappala (Allegheny District Attorney). Check out more in-depth
coverage of the elections in the links above!
In May 2023, leaders of the Pennsylvania
Forward Party met in Gettysburg to adopt party bylaws, vote in
leadership, and plan for the future. Pennsylvania was also selected
as one of 12 Battleground States by the national branch of the Forward
Party.
July & August were crucial months for the
Pennsylvania Forward Party. Riding the momentum of the 2023 May
summit, Forwardists gathered in Philadelphia to celebrate City
Commissioner Seth
Bluestein as he became a Forward Party affiliate, joining a
growing trend across the nation. We also announced our affiliation
with Stephen
Zappala in his re-election bid for District Attorney of Allegheny
County.
October was a month of exciting endorsements. See
the full list of our endorsed
candidates here!
Pennsylvania Forward participated in the November
elections. The election results here!
We put three Forwardists in office, making five across the state.
Over the holiday season, we released our 7 statewide
priorities, which set forth our vision for a better
Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Forward was also hosted by the
Philadelphia World Affairs Council in December.

Looking Forward to 2024. This upcoming year
presents an opportunity to be recognized as an official party in
Pennsylvania—one of our main goals for the year. You can read below
that Forward Utah has become a recognized party in Utah by gathering
signatures. In PA, it's a little different.
To be a recognized minor party in Pennsylvania, we need to run a
candidate in a statewide race. Finding the right candidate to run for
Attorney General, Auditor General, or Treasurer under our banner will
be the goal for the next few months.
Here are our other goals for 2024:
- We will run a Statewide Candidate who wins 2% of the statewide
total & wins 2% of the total in ten counties.
- We will run several State House Candidates in the hopes of winning
enough to prevent either of the major parties from achieving a
majority.
- We will build our volunteer base across the Commonwealth.
- We will identify & develop leaders at the Regional &
County levels.
- We will dramatically increase the number of monthly donors even if
the pledge $3.00 for a third party.
The Pennsylvania Forward Party needs you.
We are looking for candidates to run under or with the Forward Party
in 2024. Don't want to run as a candidate? Consider helping us by
joining one of our committees. To find out how you can get involved,
