MCBA Stands for Better Communities: Safer, Stronger, Happier
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and Police Chief Eddie Garcia applauded the City’s progress in combating violent crime during a recent interview, yet both say there is more work to be done — namely getting county leaders’ support.
“This will be the third consecutive year of overall violent crime falling in the City of Dallas, which is incredible,” Johnson said in an interview with CBS News Texas alongside Chief Garcia.

Pandemic stresses continue rippling through Dallas ISD.
The district’s Deputy Chief Sherry West said as a result of COVID, the district saw an increase in the number of students needing psychiatry services through Dallas ISD’s youth and family centers.
That raised the need for more psychiatrists. But these days, said West, psychiatrists are in higher demand – and more expensive.
