Trump touts yet another dead-end 2020 election fraud report
Drowning in criminal charges and facing the specter of actual prison time as the 2024 election rapidly approaches, the disgraced ex-president remains laser-focused on what really matters to him: pushing debunked, ludicrous claims that he's not a stone-cold loser. Trump is still insisting that he won in Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Michigan. His proof? A "report" that is "fully verified" from "Government Sources, Tapes, and other Public Records, and compiled by the most highly qualified Election Experts in the Country." Well, then! Case closed. Someone arrest Joe Biden immediately!

Trump appeals Maine ruling barring him from ballot under insurrection clause
In a widely predicted development, the serially indicted grifter moved forward with a formal appeal to the ruling by Maine’s secretary of state barring him from the state’s 2024 ballot due to his attempted insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump's attorneys are contending with straight faces that Sec. Shenna Bellows had no authority and that Trump incited no riot, never swore to "support" the Constitution, and — as president — was not a "government officer" as stipulated in the Constitution's 14th Amendment. Sure.

Federal appeals court rules against allowing medical emergency abortions in Texas
The Biden administration cannot use a 1986 emergency care law to require hospitals in Texas to provide abortions for women whose lives are at risk due to pregnancy, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday. The Texas Supreme Court ruled last month against a pregnant woman who asked for permission to abort a fetus with a fatal diagnosis, forcing the married mother of two to leave the state to find the care she so clearly needed. Vote this year like people's lives depend on it, because they quite literally do.

Top Hamas official Saleh Arouri, who headed West Bank operations, killed in Beirut blast
An explosion in Beirut on Tuesday killed four people, including Saleh Arouri, one of the founders of Hamas’ military wing, an official with Hamas and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah said. Lebanon’s National News Agency said the blast was carried out by an Israeli drone. Israeli officials declined to comment. The explosion came during more than two months of heavy exchanges of fire between Israeli troops and members of Hezbollah along Lebanon’s southern border. Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has vowed to retaliate against any Israeli targeting of Palestinian officials in Lebanon.

Value of Twitter has fallen 71% since Elon Musk bought it and renamed it X
The mutual fund Fidelity, which owns a stake in X Holdings, revealed in a disclosure that it has marked down the value of its shares by a staggering 71.5% since Elon Musk purchased what was once known as Twitter. It turns out the right-wing billionaire bozo's brilliant plan to platform white nationalists and antisemites, run off droves of advertisers, and jettison invaluable brand awareness tied to the site's former name isn't exactly panning out. Who would have thought?
Claudine Gay, Harvard University's embattled president, steps down after right-wing pressure campaign
Harvard's first Black woman president resigned after right-wing education crusader Chris Rufo — the man behind the conservative "CRT" freakout — successfully turned Gay's widely panned and deeply problematic performance at a congressional hearing on campus antisemitism, as well as widening allegations of plagiarism in her past academic work, into a national smear campaign that ended in her ousting. "We must not stop until we have abolished DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion] ideology from every institution in America!" celebrated Rufo on Twitter after the news broke.

Federal appeals court denies Trump’s effort to delay E. Jean Carroll civil trial
The infamous sex pest's last-ditch effort to delay his latest defamation trial — which is set to begin in two weeks — collapsed as the US Court of Appeals for the Second Court denied his pathetic motion without elaboration. The disgraced ex-president, who a jury has already found guilty of sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll, claimed that he needed the delay to consider his options, including potentially seeking review by the Supreme Court. Last month, the Second Circuit ruled that Trump could not use presidential immunity to defend against the defamation allegation brought by Carroll because he waited too long to say he wanted to use it, affirming an earlier decision by the trial court judge. Oops!
New "Storm the Capitol" board game commemorates Jan. 6
As the third anniversary of Trump's Jan. 6 insurrection rolls around, the podcast TruAnon is premiering a hilarious new board game commemorating the infamous day in Washington, DC, called "Storm the Capitol — TrueAnon Edition." The goal of the game is to get to the last room where Donald Trump himself waits for players to take them in his private helicopter and finally change the 2020 election results. We can do this, patriots!
Disgraced ex-County Clerk Kim Davis must pay $260,000 in legal fees over Kentucky same-sex marriage license refusal
The theocratic former county clerk who dominated national headlines after she was briefly jailed in 2015 over her refusal to issue marriage licenses in Kentucky to same-sex couples is finally being forced to pay the piper. In the end, Davis' homophobic grandstanding came with a hefty price tag, as a federal judge has ruled that she must pay a total of $260,104 in fees and expenses to attorneys who represented one of the couples involved in the dispute. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Biden administration asks Supreme Court to let Border Patrol remove razor wire on US-Mexico border
President Biden's ongoing legal war against Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's cruel, anti-migrant policies escalated further as Biden asked the nation's highest court to permit Border Patrol to remove razor wire that the MAGA governor erected along the southern border. Texas sued last year to stop the wire cutting, claiming federal agents were illegally destroying state property and undermining security in order to assist migrants in crossing the border. A federal appeals court last month ordered Border Patrol agents to stop the practice while court proceedings play out, and the Justice Department on Tuesday filed an emergency application, asking the Supreme Court to overturn that decision.
