As we enter 2024, we look back at some of the important news and interesting stories we shared over the past year:

• We announced the launch of our innovative research project in Botswana and Namibia, looking at the combined impact of COVID-19, HIV and tuberculosis.

• We reported on our wide-ranging initiative in Ethiopia, providing treatment, training and education to tackle increasing rates of non-communicable diseases.

• We told you about our latest film, 'Girls in the Shadow of the Pandemic', detailing the impact of COVID-19 lockdowns on women and girls in Kenya. You can watch the film here.

• Alongside the International Coalition on Drug Policy Reform we published a groundbreaking report exposing the link between drug policy and climate change.

• In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by flooding across large regions of East Africa, we launched an emergency appeal raising urgent funds to support communities, families and health workers.
