Friends,

For two and a half years, we've watched President Donald Trump shamelessly debase the highest office in the land and blatantly disregard the Constitution he and I were sworn to protect.

That's why I've called for the House to begin an impeachment inquiry to examine the potential impeachable offenses President Trump has committed:

He personally obstructed justice to cover up the criminal conspiracy of Russian interference in the election, his plans to build Trump Hotel Moscow, and his affair with Stormy Daniels;

He has violated the emoluments clause in the Constitution by personally profiting from foreign governments staying at Mar-A-Lago and the DC Trump Hotel;

He has ignored lawfully-issued subpoenas as he desperately tries to hide from the American people his tax returns, his attempts to rig the Census, and all of the corruption in this administration;

At his rallies and in his Twitter tirades, he has incited violence and stoked the flames of white supremacy by saying we should send my colleagues back to where they came from, calling American cities "infested", and warning of immigrant invasions.

The President's own actions have brought us here, team, and it's clear that an impeachment inquiry is the only way forward. Together, we can finally get to the bottom of Trump's lies -- and expose the rot of corruption at the core of his Presidency.
