Justice Clarence Thomas' wife, Ginni Thomas, had direct involvement in the events of Jan 6, 2021 and played a part in spreading the Big Lie. She exchanged text messages with Trump's Chief of Staff Mark Meadows in the weeks following the 2020 election, urging him to keep fighting to overturn the election results. This calls into question Clarence Thomas' ability to be an impartial judge in cases related to Trump and his attempts to overthrow the 2020 election. With cases heading to the Supreme Court dealing with states removing Trump from their 2024 ballots, Thomas should recuse himself from potential rulings. That's what Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin is calling for, and we couldn't agree more. We can't trust that Clarence Thomas will rule impartially re: Trump's placement on the ballot when his wife was directly involved in Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 election.
