Friends - This is a call to action.
As our governor, citizens, businesses, and professionals all across the state prepare for the pandemic, your Kentucky legislature is going on with business as usual. Yesterday was one of the busiest days of the session so far, with bills and resolutions being passed that have nothing to do with the novel coronavirus. An example is SB1 (the sanctuary bill) being on the agenda but was pulled at the last minute due to outcry from the public. Legislators are testifying inches from each other in committee earlier in the Annex.
The governor and citizens are asking the General Assembly to pass the constitutionally-required budget bill with any other relief bills, and then adjourn immediately. This is not only for what’s best for the Commonwealth, but what’s best for their health and safety.
Please call and request that they pass the budget and then adjourn. This is not the time to play politics. 1 (800) 372-7181
Thank you, and stay safe!
