As we step into 2024, I am thrilled to share some exciting news and ambitious plans for the year ahead. The Kennedy Forum is poised for unprecedented impact, and we're eager to propel the mental health movement forward with your support.
Significant Grant Fuels Our Mission:
I am delighted to announce that The Kennedy Forum has received a significant grant to support our youth mental health work in 2024 and beyond. This generous support is a testament to our shared commitment to making mental health an essential priority for youth and families. With this grant, we're gearing up to expand our capacity and accelerate progress in the crucial field of youth mental health.
A Decade of Dedication:
Since our inception in 2013, The Kennedy Forum has been at the forefront of transforming mental health and substance use disorder treatment in the healthcare system. Our specific focus on youth mental health has guided our efforts, and as we enter our eleventh year, we are more committed than ever to ensuring every individual in the United States has access to the mental health and substance use treatment services they deserve.
Alignment for Progress Movement:
In October 2023, we launched the Alignment for Progress movement, an initiative that aims to unite stakeholders across industries and political lines. This movement is not just a vision; it's a call to action. Through stakeholder working groups, an annual conference, and critical activities, we will foster collaboration and drive progress in schools and for youth and families.
Aiming for Transformation by 2033:
Our 10-year goal for the Alignment for Progress movement is bold: by 2033, we envision 90% of individuals being screened for mental health conditions or substance use disorders, 90% receiving evidence-based services and supports, and 90% of those treated managing their symptoms and achieving recovery.
Partnerships and Advocacy:
We are immensely proud of the strides we've made in pushing the needle on advocacy and legislation. From launching the National Strategy to advocating for local and state legislation in New Jersey and California, we are actively working to create tangible change. In 2024, we will continue to push our National Strategy in Washington D.C and across the country to ensure mental health is essential health for all of our youth.
Your Invaluable Support:
As we embark on this transformative journey, your support remains crucial. Join us in championing youth mental health, pushing for legislative change, and fostering collaboration across industries. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the mental well-being of our youth.
Thank you for being an essential part of The Kennedy Forum family. Here's to a year of collaboration, progress, and transformative change!
