As we kick off 2024, I am humbled to have served the sprawling New York's 24th Congressional District for an entire year now, advocating on your behalf, returning over $13,000,000+ in benefits back to our community, and working to restore transparency and accountability in Congress.
Earlier this year, we surpassed a huge milestone of explaining over 500 votes in detail, providing our community with in-depth background on each bill and unique insights into how they may impact the 24th District. I am currently the only representative who does, reiterating my deep commitment to providing transparency and accessibility in everything I do on behalf of NY-24.
I am incredibly honored to have introduced multiple pieces of legislation on our community's behalf to defend our Second Amendment Rights, support our nation's brave law enforcement officers, stand up for Veterans, secure our Borders, and lower prices for hardworking families.
As one of the top agriculture and dairy districts in the Northeast, this spring, I embarked on a district wide Farm Bill Listening Tour to hear directly from constituents about issues impacting the agriculture industry in our District. I am dedicated to advocating for our community in Washington to unleash the full potential of our rural communities and give farmers and producers the opportunities they need to succeed.
I would be remiss if I did not mention the ongoing geopolitical struggles in our world and the heinous attack on Israel on October 7th, resulting in the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. We continue to see the total depravity and inhumanity of Palestinian terrorism as these attacks on Israel persist, and Hamas continues to hold innocent civilians as hostages in heinous conditions. Today and every day, the United States must stand with Israel as it pursues justice for the innocent Israeli and American citizens harmed by terrorism.
As we enter 2024, I am filled with gratitude for the accomplishments we have achieved together. As we reflect on the challenges we've overcome, let us also embrace the opportunities that lie ahead in 2024.
