There’s a plan afoot in Washington to create a secret debt commission. The commission would meet behind closed doors and fast-track Social Security and Medicare cuts.
And that plan – which will surely include cutting benefits AND raising the retirement age – is gaining momentum.
That’s why we need everyone who thinks all Americans deserve a secure retirement after a lifetime of work to chip in and help us defend Social Security and Medicare.

Some have even started calling for a “debt commission” that would allow them to slash our earned benefits out of the public eye.
We’ve won these fights before, but it won’t be easy. We need to break through the noise, fight misinformation and convince people that their voice matters.
That’s why we are asking our best supporters to invest in our work now.
