Seven Resolutions for 2024
Happy New Year! We've got an exciting year ahead.
On that note, we've made seven New Year's Resolutions we wanted to share with you—and you can hold us to them.
Resolution #1: Recognize Conservatives Who Do the Right Thing
Courage is hard to come by in Washington, so when it is displayed, we're going to celebrate it. In 2023, CPI supporters and prominent leaders joined us in February at our Winter Leadership Conference and in September at our Annual Partners Conference to celebrate conservative heroes. We awarded Sen. Tommy Tuberville with CPI's first Courage Under Fire Award for standing up to the Left's attempts to subsidize abortions for service members.
In 2024, we will continue to recognize the unsung heroes of the movement, which in turn shows others what is possible.
Resolution #2: Identify and Refer Conservatives to Positions of Influence
They say it's hard to find good help these days, but not when you work with CPI. In 2023, we received 386 requests from offices across the conservative movement for staffing recommendations. By the close of the year, 95 CPI-recommended staffers were hired, including more than 60 congressional offices.
In 2024, we'll continue leveraging our partnerships with conservative organizations to identify and prepare exceptional candidates to work in Congress, throughout the movement, and in a potential new administration.
Resolution #3: Keep Faith and Virtue at the Forefront of What We Do
No matter what's happening in Washington—no matter the battles we face—our greatest source of strength will always be our faith.
Most recently, we offered our support and prayers to our friends and allies in the Holy Land. We hosted a special gathering to pray for those who suffered and died at the hands of Hamas. We also opened our doors to serve as a rest stop for those who participated in the pro-Israel march around the National Mall in Washington, D.C. in November.
And in June, pro-life defenders came to the CPC to celebrate the countless lives that had been saved since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in summer 2022.
At CPI, we will always recognize faith and virtue as the most important pillars to cling to in the face of evil.
Resolution #4: Train D.C. Conservatives through the Conservative Partnership Academy
CPI formally launched the Conservative Partnership Academy in June 2023 to create intellectual warriors for the movement. The Academy is an elite, full-scale training institution that gives D.C. conservatives a wide variety of skills in policy, communications, legislative procedure, investigations and oversight, and other areas. We celebrated the launch of the Academy with our inaugural Bellator Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. and honored three exceptional leaders with Bellator Awards.
This month, we'll begin our first class of Academy fellows, who will study here at CPI for 10 months. As the Academy grows, we'll add public debates, lectures, moot courts, and other opportunities to strengthen resolve for years to come.
Resolution #5: Help Conservatives Get Their Message Out
CPC Studios was in high demand in 2023. The team hosted 1,436 studio sessions! These included video projects, podcast recordings, TV interviews, documentary recordings, photography support, and graphic design.
The Studios team also launched the American Creative Network to connect conservative creators in art and media who don't subscribe to the liberal ideology that is pervasive in creative industries. In 2024, CPC Studios will remain a reliable resource for conservatives in the media who need to get their message out.
Resolution #6: Drive the Left Crazy by Expanding our Community
CPI's influence grew like never before, and it drove the Left crazy. CPI made the front page of two major liberal papers in Washington: Politico and The Washington Post. While the articles weren't meant to be praiseworthy, they did a great job articulating CPI's influence in D.C.
We expect to receive more unintentional praise by the Left this year as they continue to take notice of our growing impact.
Resolution #7: Help Build the Conservative Movement
At CPI, we're eager to offer the type of support that helps new conservative endeavors get off the ground. In 2023, for example, we helped launch a new think tank, American Mainstreet Initiative, to bring the values and voices of everyday Americans into national policy debates with intellectually rigorous data and analysis.
CPI also provided building space for the Capitol Hill Christian Academy, a full-time classical Christian school on Capitol Hill whose mission is to prepare a new generation to carry on Biblical principles.
All these successes reflect influence at work. Thank you, again, for making it such an incredible year!
