Infant
of Prague Feast - St. Therese Birthday – 3 Holy Masses Jan 2-4 Submit
Your Intentions
Dear Friend,
Tomorrow, January 2 is the
traditional feast
day of the Holy Name of Jesus
and the Infant of Prague, as well as the birthday of St. Therese of
the Child Jesus and the Holy Face. Have you submitted
your intentions for the three holy masses, from January
2-4?
The Most Holy Name of Jesus is
associated with the Infant of Prague. That is why the Carmelite Order
also celebrates the feast of the Infant of Prague on that same day. In
fact, the Carmelite devotion to the Infant of Prague began in the
17th century in Prague, Bohemia. As Father Cyril, a Carmelite Priest,
was praying before a statue of the Infant of Prague with missing arms,
and was meditating on the Incarnation of Our Lord, he heard these
words that came from the statue: “Have mercy on Me, and I will have
mercy on you. Give Me hands, and I will give you peace. The more you
honor Me, the more I will bless you.”
Since then, and throughout the
centuries, a tremendous number of blessings have come to those who
invoke the Infant of Prague, such as the restoration of good health,
spiritual gifts of mental peace and healing, and the resolution of
financial difficulties.
St. Therese often appealed to Our
Lord, as the Infant Jesus of Prague, to guide her. Let us ask the
Little Flower to send us a “gift” - a grace, on her birthday and to
ask her to intercede for us to the Child Jesus in all our needs,
especially for the need of our Shepherd, Cardinal Burke, as well as
his continued good health.
Please submit your intentions for Three Holy Masses, from January 2-4,
asking St. Therese to bring your needs to the Child Jesus. You will
automatically receive three days of prayers,
beginning tomorrow, January 2.
Let us turn our hearts and minds to
the Infant Jesus, whose kindness is ever ready to send us aid, with
His outstretched little hand of mercy, He fills us with all
blessings.
Yours in the Newborn Infant
King,
