Over the last several decades, Nepal has become a poster child for successful policy change in reproductive health and rights. The modern contraceptive prevalence rate climbed from 26 percent in 1996 to 43 percent in 2016. And the fertility rate dropped by half over the same time period, from 4.6 to 2.3 children per woman. But Trump's Global Gag Rule threatens this progress.
