John — earlier this week I spent some time reflecting on the difficult year behind us and the work we have to do in the year ahead. While our 50th anniversary was cause for celebration, there was often more heartache than happiness. But as always, PFLAG chapters, members, and supporters showed up — at legislative hearings, school board meetings, and town halls — and worked tirelessly to fight over 500+ harmful anti-LGBTQ+ bills in nearly every state. We also came together in spectacular fashion to celebrate PFLAG’s historic 50th anniversary, marking the moment at our anniversary gala, at Learning With Love: The 2023 PFLAG National Convention and, of course, at Pride marches and events across the country. We also created a beautiful new brand with a logo that reflects the love at the center of everything we do, and reaffirms our name — PFLAG — not as an acronym but as a word which, like the LGBTQ+ community itself, cannot be pulled apart. I hope you’ll take a moment to reflect on the inspiring work PFLAG chapters, members, and supporters like you are doing every day, everywhere, for hundreds of thousands of families — and help us prepare for what will be a challenging year ahead. Your support fuels this critical work, so I hope that before midnight tonight, you will make a 2023 year-end tax-deductible gift to PFLAG National. We are always leading with love at PFLAG—and in 2024, our love must take action like never before. |
