Wayne Pacelle here with the Center for a Humane Economy. I know it’s New Year’s Eve but I wanted to make sure to update you on progress toward our $35,000 goal—we’re close but still short by $3,788.

I’m so in awe of the generous support we continue to receive from our supporters around the world. And once again, I need to ask you to step up.

The work we’re doing right now is vitally important: If we can win our campaigns in 2024, we’ll spare animals from cruelty on a scale that is extraordinary. Think about it. If we convince all of the major global athletic shoe brands to stop sourcing kangaroo skins for their soccer cleats, that will spare 1.5 million joeys (baby kangaroos) over the next 5 years.

Our work will also prevent the live export of 110,000 American horses for butchering in Canada and Mexico, and it will prevent the use of 5 million dogs, primates, and other animals from the torment of needless and painful drug testing in laboratories.

We cannot relent in our efforts to end cruelty to wildlife and domesticated animals.
