The coronavirus pandemic is a reproductive justice issue we take seriously. However, acknowledging that many of our supporters might like a break from social distancing and the endless news cycle, we invite you to take a break and look at what Reproaction was up to over the past month:

Action

Reproaction joined hundreds of reproductive health, rights, and justice activists outside of the Supreme Court during oral arguments for June Medical Services v. Russo, a major abortion case to be decided this term. Our team had a great time standing up for abortion access at the #MyRightMyDecision rally:

Erin took a victory lap with Catherine Read on Radio Fairfax the day Virginia passed the Reproductive Health Protection Act. This new law ends several barriers to abortion access, including mandatory ultrasound requirements, mandatory waiting periods, and unconstitutional abortion clinic shutdown restrictions, while also expanding providers eligible to provide care. Huzzah!

Nataley attended the Wisconsin Women’s Health Advocacy Summit in Madison. The summit, organized by Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health (WAWH), was a day full of empowerment, learning, networking, and education. She tabled at and spoke to dozens of Wisconsin residents about our #WIFights292 campaign to eliminate the Unborn Child Protection Act (Act 292). She also tabled, check out her spread:

On Our Blog

Shireen connected anti-vaccine and anti-abortion rhetoric, explaining how both ignore science and spread potentially dangerous misinformation. She also took us to North Carolina where anti-abortion lies are hampering Medicaid expansion. She reflected on the repulsive 'pro-life’ thought experiments that prove how little they view women and people who have abortions as real, as opposed to ideas they can use to validate their oppressive tendencies. Finally, she wrote about anti-abortion fake clinics jockeying for taxpayer dollars to push the regressive ideologies. (Spoiler alert: they are loaded.)

Kara covered the October rally outside SCOTUS in support of LGBTQ rights and how the day sent a powerful message that LGBTQ people and allies will not sit quietly while rights are being threatened.

Brittany explained Reproaction’s work with The Right Time initiative which is working with a variety of health centers and community partners in targeted regions across Missouri to provide training, technical assistance, and funding to expand access to the full range of contraceptive methods.

Reproaction in the News

Erin and Pamela spoke to ReproJobs about the unique experience of being co-directors and why they chose it as a leadership model for Reproaction.

Erin spoke about feminism and self-esteem with Dr. Melissa Bird on Facebook Live.

Erin’s tweet about Trump’s anti-abortion WTF at the State of the Union address was published in Rewire.
