I’m following Coach’s leadership on this issue – the way he’s approached it since day one – and using my voice to urge action rather than stay on the sidelines. Because ending gun violence is essential to all of our needs and creating a better future for the next generation. The energy in the gun violence prevention movement is totally different than it was 10 years ago – and that didn’t happen by accident, friend. My wife, Ayesha, and I work to improve the lives of kids in Oakland, and addressing gun violence, particularly as it affects Black and brown kids, is an essential part of that. So many of these dealers are in inner cities where they feast on the structural and generational traumas of the communities.
