Friends,
These are difficult and challenging times for all of us, and your health, safety, and well-being are what matter most. We are thinking about you and remain so very grateful that you are part of our Clinton Foundation community, here in the U.S. and around the globe.
The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing all of us to change the way we work, our social interactions, and our thinking about how best to safeguard everyone’s health, particularly those who are most vulnerable in our families and in our communities. A cornerstone of the Clinton Foundation's mission is to improve public health, and we are committed to helping confront and adapt our programmatic work to address the new challenges we face. Below are a few updates on our efforts to date:
- The Clinton Presidential Center, World Central Kitchen, City of Little Rock, and other local partners are providing meals to Little Rock-area students affected by school closures, as well as working to provide meals for other vulnerable populations. Additionally, we are exploring how we might expand that work to support communities in California, New York, and Ohio.
- Too Small to Fail produced a new Family Staycation Activities Kit with 10 ways parents and caregivers can talk, read, sing, and play their way through the day with children who are now home from school. Too Small to Fail also partnered with parenting lifestyle brand Motherly to share these resources more widely. You can hear an exclusive interview with Chelsea Clinton on its podcast.
- We will host a virtual meeting for CGI University participants on Saturday, April 18, as we have postponed our in-person meeting at the University of Edinburgh until spring 2021. Our team is providing CGI U students around the world with additional assistance as they develop their Commitments to Action with an added focus on those projects that address the response to COVID-19.
- We are also supporting our Caribbean neighbors as part of the continuing work of the CGI Action Network as they work to address COVID-19.
We are continuing to look for other ways we might be helpful in addressing this crisis and will keep you apprised of our ongoing efforts. In the meanwhile, thank you for all that you’re doing to take care of yourselves, your loved ones, and your communities, and for continuing to find ways to help those in need. On behalf of President Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, and all of us here at the Foundation, take good care.
Sincerely,
Kevin Thurm
CEO
